Project Description:

The new Heavy Lift Orion I of the multinational DEME was built at COSCO’s shipyard in Qidong

(China) in 2018 and is considered to be the monohull crane vessel with the highest lifting capacity in the world, 2,500 tons. The vessel’s purpose is multipurpose, ranging from the installation of windmills in shallow waters with a pile installation system, with an on-deck capacity to carry six units, to commissioning and decommissioning operations of offshore installations without depth limitation and the transport of heavy cargoes. The vessel has DP3 dynamic positioning.
