Narrative description of the project
The Spanish Navy's Combat Supply Ship (BAC) is a high-capacity logistics vessel designed to guarantee the supply at sea of fuel, provisions, water, and operational equipment to combat units. Equipped with simultaneous refueling systems and a flight deck for helicopter operations, the BAC ensures the autonomy, sustainability, and projection of naval force on prolonged missions, both military and humanitarian. Designed as an evolution of the BAC Cantabria and the AAORs built for Australia, the main changes compared to its predecessors focus on hospital capacity, increased embarked personnel, the use of autonomous systems, and point defense.
