Location: Galicia, SPAIN
Development year: 2025 – 2026

Narrative description of the project

At a particularly critical time, and with the aim of defining the energy transition and decarbonization strategy for Galicia 's industrial parks and ports, this large-scale study will strengthen the security of electricity supply in two key sectors of our economy through self-consumption solutions. This is the largest energy and environmental analysis, characterization, and optimization project undertaken to date in the autonomous community. The work, which will be carried out over the next 12 months, is based on a combination of technological innovation, artificial intelligence, and the active participation of the business community.

In addition to strengthening the security of the electricity supply, the main objective of the audit that RDG will carry out is to reduce energy costs and decarbonize industrial and port activity, making it a useful tool for Galician companies and actively contributing to the progress towards a greener Galicia. All actions will be geared towards proposing renewable self-consumption solutions, the implementation of energy storage systems, the improvement of industrial process efficiency, and the optimization of mobility, thus contributing to strengthening business competitiveness and meeting European sustainability goals.

Furthermore, as a result of the advanced analyses to be carried out, the feasibility of collaborative energy generation and savings models in Galicia's industrial parks and ports will be studied. These models include energy communities, space rental, shared investment, and savings certification. These options will enable progress toward more sustainable and efficient energy management, as well as foster territorial collaboration.

The technological core of this initiative will be an advanced digital platform, powered by large volumes of data and modeled using artificial intelligence techniques. This platform will integrate all the analysis results and will be able to automatically generate energy optimization proposals tailored to each specific situation and the unique needs of each company.

With this initiative, Galicia is committed to a model based on knowledge, the active involvement of its productive sector and the application of the most innovative technologies to guarantee a more sustainable, secure and competitive energy future.

Scope of Ghenova's work

LOT 1: Renewable resource analysis
LOT 2: Assessment of energy infrastructure and identification of usable areas
LOT 3: Characterization of energy demand and energy audit
LOT 5: Assessment of sustainable logistics and mobility

To maximize the system's use and benefits, an intuitive and accessible user interface will be designed, developed, and implemented. This interface is designed to simplify user interaction with the complex artificial intelligence system, making the advanced technology accessible and understandable to operators without requiring specialized AI knowledge. This is essential to ensure that end users can use the system effectively and fully benefit from its advanced capabilities.
