Seville. 11. January. 2023. The Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, has visited Ghenova’s headquarters in Seville, accompanied by Álvaro Pimentel, Delegate for Employment and Economy. Both have had the opportunity to learn about the projects in which the leading private company in Spanish and Latin American naval engineering is immersed, as well as its diversification and expansion strategy both nationally and internationally.
Currently, the company, with 100% Andalusian capital, is celebrating 40 years in engineering with more than 1,000 professionals on its staff. During this last decisive year, it has significantly increased its professional talent in order to take on large-scale projects in which the company operates.
During the visit, Ghenova’s management team guided the municipal leader through its facilities and gave a presentation on the most important projects the company is working on in its three verticals: Naval and Defence, Energy and Industry and Digital Transformation.
Ghenova celebrates 40 years in engineering, developing projects of high technological complexity. “In the naval and defence sector, with 30 years of experience, we work with some of the most important navies in the world, carrying out engineering for cutting-edge programmes, as is the case of the Spanish Navy and the F110 series of frigates designed and built by Navantia,” explained the company’s CEO, Francisco Cuervas.
In Energy and Industry, Ghenova, thanks to a professional team with extensive experience in international projects in multiple technologies, has established itself as a globally recognised consultancy firm in the sector. The company excels in projects that promote sustainable solutions, focusing on environmental protection in areas such as onshore and offshore wind, photovoltaic, waste to energy plants, and H2 technology. With more than 40 projects completed around the world, the multinational has extensive experience in waste-to-energy plants thanks to its participation in international projects for technologist and EPC clients.
The Digital vertical, on the other hand, ranges from artificial intelligence and data storage to the development of customised solutions, such as the Arpodes project, a sensor system for monitoring the fruit ripening process. The company is also strengthening its position in the technological landscape through cybersecurity initiatives, thus consolidating its commitment to digital protection.
During the visit, Cuervas emphasised that “the diversification and expansion in which we are immersed has allowed us to continue growing and to take our engineering from Seville to the world, working on highly complex projects with very important clients on all five continents. Continuous quality improvement, customer satisfaction, respect for the environment and innovation are the values that have brought us to where we are today”.
For his part, the Mayor highlighted “the work that the company has done in these 40 years, making Seville a world reference in the naval sector in a constant commitment to innovation and respect for the environment, creating and generating knowledge, employment and opportunities from our city”.
“The City Council must be an ally so that companies, investors and entrepreneurs have in Seville the opportunity they are looking for to create employment and wealth. That is why the new economic model that we are building for the Seville of the 21st century is very aware that we cannot be satisfied with just tourism as in recent years and that we must look to a future that is committed to industry, innovation and sustainability”, said José Luis Sanz during his visit.
