Narrative description of the project:

The plant is located in Cheshire, England, United Kingdom and has a total, annual capacity of 400,000 tons of non-recyclable waste, with 2 lines of waste-deriving energy recovery with annual capacity of 200,000 tons each.  The Protos EfW – Energy from Waste facility will be processing 2 types of waste, Residual fraction of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and Commercial & Industrial Waste (C&I).

The Protos Energy from Waste facility is a project of high technical requirements in a highly competitive market. The Sustainable Engineering Solutions Business Unit of MYTILINEOS will provide the integrated management of all construction stages (EPC) of the project and in order to ensure the facility’s sustainable reliable operation the critical equipment shall be duplicated. The facility is scheduled to enter to commercial operation in 2024.

MYTILINEOS is the leader of the prestigious joint venture with Standardkessel Baumgarte GmbH (SBG), world’s leading EfW technology provider, holding a 55% share and is assigned as the Principal Contractor and Principal Designer of the project..

GHENOVA scope of works:

Piping detailed studies: Isometrics, supports, stress analysis, Lists, MTOs, 3D Model, Clash Detection.

 

The work is generally divided into three main priority packages:

  1. Downpipes and overflow pipes, standpipes, feed water station, feed water line to the boiler, connecting lines (e.g. Econiomiser, saturated steam, superheater, …), high pressure line to the boiler slide including start-up line and blow-out line, soot blower lines, drainage and ventilation  to the stations, drainage , – ventilation stations, boiler preheating, drain expansion valve incl.,  vapor line, injection stations and conncetion lines, …
  2. Feed water system including pumps, tanks, etc., HP line up to the turbine, withdrawals and taps at the turbine, turbine bypass, exhaust steam line, steam reducing stations, cooling water systems, condensate systems, drainage and ventilation stations (WDK), Luko and ancillary systems, steam and condensate system in the Area of air preheating, heat exchangers, etc., fuel supply (gas / oil), hydraulic system grate, pneumatic Ash removal, shot irrigation system, rear ventilation of the brickwork, exhaust steam systems,
  3. Cooling water system, fire-fighting water, drinking water, various process water, drinking water, waste water systems, SCS system (air and water), dosing station, sampling station, SNCR system, compressed air systems, …
