Narrative description of the project

In a first phase, the Maryvale EfW plant will divert approximately 325,000 tons of non-recyclable waste from the landfill and reuse it to generate steam and electricity to replace the natural gas and coal-fired electricity currently consumed by the paper mill. SUEZ Australia and New Zealand have committed 150,000 tons per year of commercial and industrial waste. The second phase will increase capacity to 650,000 tons/year and will help Australian Paper in its commitment to manage waste responsibly and ensure future sustainability and reliability in energy production.

Scope of Ghenova's work

Complete basic and detailed engineering, all disciplines:

– Review of the technical program to detect unclear or undetermined requirements that represent potential savings during any phase of the project: detailed engineering and construction.
– Layout design approved by the end customer taking into account all inputs: technical requirements, location, environment, existing facilities, traffic management distribution, waste management, earthworks…
– Earthwork calculations and preliminary design of the foundations for the main equipment.
– Design and calculation of the bunker according to ground conditions and capacity. Simulation of the depth study as a function of the final design of the tipping plant.
– Design and calculation of foundations for main equipment.
– RfQ’s of main equipment.
– P&ID’s, PFD’s, line list and valve list.
– Water balance approved by the end customer.
– Load calculation report and one-line diagram approved by end customer together with calculation of main equipment (transformers, UPS, …).
– Noise study in accordance with Australian regulations.
– 3D model including all disciplines: piping, electrical and civil works.
– Piping MTO and piping specification.
– MTO’s for budget estimation: Piping material, welds, supports and insulation.
– I&C documents: MTO, I/O list, list of instruments,…
