The PES Project (Strategic Surface Platform) stands out in the naval defense industry for its scope and economic, technological and defense impact.

The new vessels will replace the Santa Maria class F80s, commissioned in 1986 and reaching their operational life in 2025 after modernizations. The program, estimated at 4.3 billion euros, will build five units starting in February 2022 at Navantia’s shipyard in Ferrol.
