Narrative description of the project

The Kaombo FPSO project is a deepwater oil development in Block 32, offshore Angola, operated by TotalEnergies with partners Sonangol, Sinopec, Esso, and Galp. It consists of two converted FPSOs, Kaombo Norte and Kaombo Sul, both repurposed from VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) tankers. Each FPSO has a production capacity of 115,000 barrels of oil per day and a storage capacity of 1.7 million barrels. The development operates in water depths ranging from 1,400 to 2,000 meters and includes 59 subsea wells connected via 300 km of subsea pipelines, making it one of the largest subsea networks globally.
