Seville, 24 January 2023. Ghenova continues to advance in its process of strengthening its capabilities with the incorporation of two new professional profiles with extensive experience for the development of its cybersecurity and marine renewable areas. Enrique Cubeiro Cabello, a naval captain in the reserve, will lead the cybersecurity business, while the naval engineer Raúl Rodríguez Arias will lead the Marine Renewable Energies Unit. Both will be based in Ferrol, where Ghenova has its second largest office after the headquarters in Seville, although from there they will lead all the resources of their speciality distributed throughout the different work centres of the group.
In Cybersecurity, CN(r) Cubeiro has held responsibilities in the Cyberdefence Unit of the Subdirectorate General of Programmes of the General Directorate of Armament and Material (DGAM) of the Ministry of Defence until he joined GHENOVA. Among his extensive experience in Cyber Defence, his positions as Chief of Staff and 2nd Commander of the Joint Cyber Defence Command (2017-2020) and, previously, Chief of Operations (2013-2017) also stand out. He is a specialist in Communications, holds a diploma in Armed Forces Staff and a master’s degree in Cyber Defence from the University of Alcalá de Henares. He has been part of the group of experts in charge of drafting the 2019 National Cybersecurity Strategy and has chaired the inter-ministerial working groups for the development of the action line “Enhancing Cybersecurity in the maritime field”, as well as the development of the “Good Practice Guide for Cybersecurity Risk Management in Vessels and Port Facilities”.
His mission at Ghenova will be to ensure the highest levels of security for the company’s systems, as well as to intensify cybersecurity services for external clients.
At Renovables Marinas, Raúl Rodríguez’s objective will be to lead the mission of consolidating GHENOVA as one of the benchmark engineering companies in this sector, with sufficient muscle to deal with the large projects that the sector is putting on the table, but with the levels of proximity and competitiveness that GHENONA usually offers to its best clients in the areas of defence, naval, terrestrial or digital energy. Raúl Rodríguez has extensive experience in the offshore wind sector. He obtained his degree in Naval Engineering at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Navales (ETSIN) of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) in 2001. After a 4-year stint at NAVANTIA, he has dedicated his professional career to the field of marine renewable energies. In recent years, as Head of Naval and Offshore Engineering in the Offshore Renewable Energies Area of Tecnalia Research & Innovation and as Technical Director of NAUTILUS Floating Solutions, since 2017. He is author and co-author of more than 15 articles and conference papers in national and international forums as well as holder of a patent related to renewable energies. He has been involved in standardisation aspects of marine energy devices within IEC/TC114 and offshore wind turbines in IEC/TC88.
With these two important incorporations, GHENOVA reaffirms its commitment to the best talent in order to continue growing as a reference company in the sectors in which it operates.
